RN Electronics can provide the required testing, assessment and certification services for the UK, Europe, North America, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand - and assist with specific approval requirements for radio and EMC with different national bodies, local representation and in-country testing.

Regulator: The Office of Communications (Ofcom)
Note: UKCA mark will replace the CE mark in the UK from 1 January 2021.
EMC & Radio Testing Requirement: European Standards are met.
EMC & Radio Certification Documentation: UK Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is required. There will be a transition period until December 2021 during which the CE mark will be accepted in the UK where the products meet EU standards.
From 1 January 2021 the UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking comes in to force in Great Britain (the CE mark will continue to be used in Northern Ireland). Goods can carry both CE and UKCA marking if they are compliant with UK and EU regulations.
RN Electronics can undertake testing to the UK version of European EMC and Radio standards (BS EN). We can support you to ensure that your products are compliant for sale on the UK market whether they have been manufactured in the UK or imported.
Regulator: National regulatory body within each member state.
EMC & Radio Testing Requirement: European Standards are met.
EMC & Radio Certification Route: CE Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is required.
RN Electronics can undertake testing to all European Standards, BS EN, ETSI, CENELEC etc. As part of our service we will be pleased to advise on the standards applicable to your product.
The requirements apply to all 27 countries in the European Union:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
Regulator: Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
EMC & Radio Testing Requirement: FCC test reports can be used.
EMC Certification Route: From November 2018 only SDoC (Suppliers Declaration of Conformity) or Certification is required.
RN Electronics is also recognised as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). We are designated to perform compliance testing on equipment subject to Suppliers Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) under Parts 15B and 18 of the Commission's Rules.
Radio Certification Route: FCC certification is required.
As an FCC accredited testing laboratory for the US market, RN Electronics can perform unlicensed radio testing to various parts of 15C, along with testing to certain licensed rule parts. We can also provide certification services in order to achieve FCC grants and listing on the FCC’s website for Radio equipment. RN Electronics FCC scope of accreditation can be found here.

Regulator: Interference Causing Equipment Standard (ICES) / Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED)
EMC Testing Requirement: Test reports relevant to ISED Standards (or equivalent) are accepted.
Radio Testing Requirement: Test reports to Radio Standards Specifications (RSS) are accepted. BETS standards are also required for certain types of radio equipment.
We can perform EMC and Radio tests to Canadian ISED standards. Our 3 & 10m OATS test site and semi – anechoic chambers are filed with ISED under 5612-1 5612-2, 5612-3, and 5612-4.
EMC Certification Route: A Declaration of Conformity (DoC) will be required.
Radio Certification Route: ISED Certification is required - RN Electronics can offer certification services in order to achieve ISED acceptance certificates for radio equipment and listing on Canada’s Radio Equipment List (REL).
We can assist you in gaining access for your products to the Australian and New Zealand markets as an appointed Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) and with accredited testing.
Regulators: Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) (Australia) and Radio Spectrum Management Group (RSM) (New Zealand)
EMC Testing Requirement: As a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) under the MRA, this means that products tested in our UKAS accredited laboratory and accompanying RN Electronics test reports can be used to place your products on the market in Australia and New Zealand.
Radio Testing Requirement: Radio and wireless devices tested in our UKAS accredited laboratory to the applicable European and FCC radio standards and accompanying RN Electronics test reports can be used to place your products on the market in Australia and New Zealand. The RCM mark must be affixed to the product.
The A-tick/C-tick mark has now been phased out as of March 2016.

EMC Testing Requirement: A VCCI test report is required.
Radio Testing Requirement: Radio and wireless devices placed in the Japanese market will require a test report showing compliance to the Japanese radio legislations.
EMC Certification Route: Product dependent some compulsory certification some through Declaration of Conformity (DoC).
Radio Certification Route: MiC Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) review.
Regulator: Infocomm Development Authority (iDA).
Radio Testing Requirement: ILAC accredited FCC or EU test reports can be used.
Certification Route: Local representative required for certification.
Regulator: Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA)
EMC & Radio Testing Requirement: Reliant on the type of device.
EMC Certification Route: In country testing is required.
Radio Certification Route: FCC or EU test reports used in submission.

EMC Testing Requirement: Test report from NRRA-accredited laboratories accepted.
