EU to Strengthen Market Surveillance
The European Union has proposed new regulations to improve market surveillance and the trade of goods throughout the Single Market, see: http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-17-5301_en.htm
The proposed new Regulation on Compliance and Enforcement follows a study that found 58% of the products tested failed to fully comply with the relevant EMC and radio equipment Directives, see: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=SWD:2017:0466:FIN.
The study also identified that there were 52 staff across the EU directly engaged in market surveillance of electronic products from an EMC and Radio perspective.
