Safety Testing of Radio Devices to the Low Voltage Directive (LVD)

Safety testing of electrical products is an essential part of CE Marking and our fast, cost effective technical assessment aims to ensure that your radio products have been designed and manufactured to operate safely.

In addition to EMC compliance, radio products must also comply with the safety requirements as set out in the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) (2014/35/EU). As per the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) (2014/53/EU), all equipment regardless of its voltage range, including battery operated; need to comply with the Safety requirements.

This means all equipment that might have fallen outside the scope of the Low Voltage Directive because their operational voltage is less than 50 VAC or 75 VDC, now have to comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive if they fall under scope of the Radio Equipment Directive.
